Lions Roll Past Cougars

North Branch, NJ - The women's basketball team hosted the Cougars from Camden County College on Saturday afternoon. The host Lions wound up dominating the visitors in an 88-49 victory. With the victory the Lions move to 22-5 on the season, tying the highest win total in program history. 

Every Lion got into the scoring column, but it was the first quarter connection of Kerine Thomas and Vega Gil that got the Lions on the right track. Gil registered 12 of her team high 24 points in that first frame and 10 of them came off passes from Thomas. Thomas was tied for the team lead with 6 assists and led the team with 5 made three pointers to give her a total of 15 on the day. The Lions dominated the glass and everyone had at least 4 boards. Ja'Nya Mills led the team with 11 boards to compliment her 7 points. The Lions reserves were crucial again to the teams' success. Judith Vila and Alexis Junker each had 9 points while Junker pulled down 8 boards and Vila grabbed 5 to go along with 3 assists.

The Lions have two games left in the regular season. On Tuesday they travel to Harcum College to take on the Bears in their final Region XIX matchup. Then they will return home on Thursday for Sophomore Night, to host the Knights of CCBC Essex.
