North Branch, NJ – Olivia Nilsen has been named to the All-Region XIX 3rd team for her outstanding performance this season. The Freshman guard from Bound Brook lead her team in scoring at nearly 18 ppg with very impressive splits of 41% from the field, 36% from downtown, and 86% from the line. The high scoring Nilsen eclipsed the 20 point mark on nine separate occasions this year and registered 30 or more twice on the season. In her career high 34 point performance against Mercer County Community College she connected on a career best 6 three point attempts while shooting an unbelievable 50% from the field. A sniper from downtown, she hit at least one trifecta in every game this season but one and scored in double figures in 27 out of her 30 contests. Her 88 threes made on the year were good enough for 12th in the entire country at the NJCAA Division II level. Although she is feared by opponents for her shooting ability Nilsen has managed to turn herself into a great rebounder for the Lions. She finished second on the team with 6.4 boards per game and tallied five double doubles on the year. Twice this season Nilsen was named as the Garden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her performances. Congratulations Liv on an unbelievable Freshman season and for all your accomplishments this year!
