North Branch, NJ – Ashley Hunt has been named to the Women's Basketball All-Region XIX First Team for the 2017-18 Season. The sophomore guard from Edison followed up her breakout freshman season with a wonderful sophomore campaign. Hunt was second on the team in scoring at 16.2 PPG, grabbed 4.6 boards per game, and dished out a team high 6.0 APG good for fourth in the entire country. Her 181 total assists on the year rank her 3^rd in the entire NJCAA for Women's Division II Basketball. Ashley has been an integral part of the rebuilding process of the Lions over the past two seasons. Entering her freshman season Hunt and her fellow classmates, Megan Mack and Mariana Munoz, inherited a program that had won just one game in their previous season as a club team. During her freshman year Hunt helped lead the Varsity squad to an 8-14 overall record, the most program wins the school has had in over a decade. This past season the Lions finished with a 22-9 overall record, placed tied for second in the Garden State Athletic Conference, and made their first trip to the Region XIX Tournament.
