Lions Defeated by Union

North Branch, NJ-- The RVCC women's volleyball team lost to a tough Union County team this past Saturday in four sets. The first set was an exciting one, as Union won by a final score of 28-26. The Lions countered in the second set with a  25-21 victory, yet Union wound up taking the last two sets 25-13 and 25-12. 

For the Lions, freshman libero Hannah Eisenstien was again a big defensive presence as she tallied 39 digs. Freshman opposite hitter Brooke Scheier let the offensive attack as she totalled 13 kills on 37 attempts, and also had five service aces. Scheier also helped out on defense as she had 14 digs. Another well-rounded performance came from freshman outside hitter Taylor Moskal, as she finished with 21 digs and eight kills.

With the loss the Lions are now 2-4 on the season, and their next match is this Wednesday, September 21st at Ocean County College starting at 6pm.
