North Branch, NJ - The RVCC women's volleyball team swept the Middlesex College Colts on Monday night with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, and 25-10. Every Lion hitter had at least one kill with Dennicy Mota leading the way with 10 kills on the night. Madison Cobb finished with 9, Courtney Bordonaro had 8, Danna Gaitan had 5, Jocelyn Gross had 4, and Skylee Ohler finished with 1 kill. Overall the Lions were very effective on the night offensively as they finished with a .324 hitting percentage. Ohler, Gaitan and Bordonaro all finished over .500. Ohler paced the Lions offense with 29 assists and had a team high 10 service aces. DS/Libero Akemi Amoretti had a team high 11 digs, while Bordonaro finished with 7 and Avalyn Stayskal had 5.
The Lions are currently 14-9 on the season and travel to Ocean County College on Wednesday for a 6:30 PM match against the Vikings. The Lions beat the Vikings in their first game of the season, 3-1.
