Lions Start Strong in Sweep of Bergen

 

Paramus, NJ - The women's volleyball team went on the road to face the Bulldogs from Bergen Community College on Thursday night. With the Lions ahead 9-5 in the first set, Rachel Hatto stepped to the service line and put the set out of reach for the Bulldogs. The freshman DS from Bridgewater served 9 points in a row including a stint of 7 straight aces. Hatto would finish the night with a season high 10 toal aces. The Lions continued their strong play in the second and third set as they were able to sweep the Bulldogs for the second time this season. Olivia Sims led the attack on the offenive end with 11 total kills. The Lions had 8 different players register kills on the night as Kelly Delaney had 6, Jaiden English had 5, Brittany Jensen had 4, Alanna Da Cunha had 3, Carolina Osses and Izabela Bar had 2, and Bri Rojas finished with 1. Rojas also led the Lions on the defensive end with 14 digs. 10 separate Lions registered digs on the night including Karis Lopiccolo with 1 and Melany Gomez with 2. Sims and Da Cunha each added 2 solo blocks on the night. 

The Lions sit at 17-4 on the year and host Dutchess County College on Saturday at 1.
