North Branch, NJ - The Lions finished their Fall Semester off with a home matchup against the Essex County College Wolverines. RVCC entered the game on a 5 game winning streak and continued their strong play to begin the game. The Lions were able to grab a 22-13 lead over Essex on an assist from Eddie Davis to Raheem Carter. RVCC maintained a lead the remainder of the half and went into the break with a 41-33 advantage. Essex County College started the half off strong and were able to cut the lead to 1 trailing just 48-47. The next couple minutes the Lions made their run and opened up a 70-56 lead on a pair of free throws from Ernest Carter. The Wolverines continued to chip away at the lead and were able to cut it to a 4 point game trailing just 84-80. Eddie Davis knocked down 2 free throws to give the Lions a 6 point lead and Ahmad Robinson drilled a 3 from the wing to give RVCC an 89-80 lead. Raritan Valley knocked down timely free throws to win the game 96-85. Raheem Carter finished with a game high 31 points to go along with 14 rebounds, Eddie Davis scored 25 and added 8 assists and Ahmad Robinson had 19 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. The Lions go into the Winter break with an overall record of 12-2 and will resume play after the New Year.
