Spies Takes 12th in Nationals

Canandaigua, NY-- On Saturday November 12th the NJCAA Division III Cross Country National Championship Meet took place at Finger Lakes Community College. Representing RVCC was freshman Robert Spies, who has excelled all season. In the men's 8k race, Spies finished in 12th place out of 50 with a time of 29:48 and an average kilometer pace of 3:44. The race was a close one, as the first place runner finished with a time of 29:11.

Head cross country coach Patty Rivas took some time to reflect upon Rob's performance, saying "I'm very excited for Rob and had no doubt he was ready. I know he will come back hungrier for more next year. The entire RVCC athletic department is proud of him and his accomplishments. Our season is over but we'll be getting back to work in the spring and starting our buildup again for fall 2017."

Congratulations to Rob on a phenomenal season!
