Naticoke, PA-- The RVCC cross country team traveled to Luzerne County Community College this past Saturday, October 1st. The runners from the men's side had an exepctional race in the 8k.

Freshman Robert Spies finished in second place with a finishing time of 27:48, and right behind him in third place was fellow freshman Collin Diedhiou with a finishing time of 30:04. Juan Ojeda, another Lions freshman wound up in 13th place with a time of 34:51.

From the women's side, freshman Diana Jimenez took third place in the 5k with a time of 22:19. Freshman Tanya Dean took sixth place with a time of 25:59 and freshman Briana Higgins took seventh with a time of 26:22. There were 29 total participants in the men's race, and 10 total in the women's. The strong showing sets up the Lions for the regional meet, which takes place in Branchburg Park in Newark, NJ on October 30th.
