Cross Country Performs Well in First Meet

North Branch, NJ-- The RVCC cross country team participated in it's first meet of the season on Friday, September 2nd. The Lions traveled up to Mahwah, NJ for the Ramapo Invitaional which consisted of over 15 colleges from the New Jersey and New York area. 

In the 5000 Meter Run, the men's team was represented by freshman Robert Spies, Collin Diedhiou, and Juan Prada-Ojeda. Spies had a great race, as he ran a 17:57 and finished in 19th place. Fellow freshman Collin Diedhiou also had a solid race, as he ran a 19:22 and wound up in 35th place. Juan Prada Ojeada, another freshman ran a 24:02 and finished in 68th. For the women's side, freshman Diana Jimenez ran a 24:32 in the 5000 meter and took 37th place. 

This was the collegiate debut for all of these runners, and they will look to build off of the first meet's success and improve as they will run in the Rider Invitational on Friday September 16th.
