Volleyball Roars Past Ocean

North Branch, NJ - The Lions Volleyball team handed Ocean County College their first loss in the Garden State Athletic Conference last night by a final score of 3-0. The set scores were 25-18, 25-13, 25-16 as the Lions kept the Vikings at bay the entire night. 

The Lions came out hungry as they stormed to an early 7 point lead 13-6 behind some great serving in the first set. Rosemarie Perna led the way with 5 service aces on the night, Bryahna Shaw and Tess Rogovin weren't far behind with 4 and 3 service aces a piece respectively. The Lions were able to turn their great passing into some easy kills as Shaw lead the team with 14 kills on the night and Hannah Chiswick was a close second with 13. Zaloni Johnson tallied 6 kills and Tayler Tarabokija finished with 5. The Lions offense was running smoothly behind setter Tess Rogovin who notched 30 assists on the night for the second time this season. Molly Vander Horn held the Vikings in check with her great backline defense as she notched a team high 7 digs. 

RVCC returns to action this Saturday as they travel to take on the Owls of Union County for a 12 P.M. start time. RVCC is currently 10-3 on the season.
