Volleyball Beats PSU-Lehigh Valley

North Branch, NJ - The RVCC Volleyball team earned one more win in the month of August by defeating Penn State University Lehigh Valley last night by a final score of 3-0. The Lions got off to a strong start and finished the Nittany Lions off with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, and 25-15.

RVCC relies heavily on their defense and that starts with Sophomore Libero, Andrea Chavez. Chavez held down the back row for the Lions with 12 digs on the night. She got plenty of help back there as Freshman, Hannah Chiswick also tallied double digit digs with 10 total. Chiswick, a Delaware Valley High School graduate, played a wonderful game all around as she also racked up 6 kills and a very impressive 8 service aces. Fellow Freshman, Tayler Tarabokija lead the team with 7 kills on the night while Sophomore Tess Rogovin paced the offense with 15 assists. The Lions had 19 service aces on the night with Freshman Molly Vander Horn and Sophomore Anais Duarte each registering 3 a piece.

The Lions return to action on September 5th at 7 P.M. when they travel to Midtown Manhattan to take on Region XV opponent Fashion Institute of Technology. The Lions defeated F.I.T. last year in Branchburg 3-1. RVCC now sits at 4-0 on the season.
