Volleyball Season Comes To An End

Newtown, PA – The RVCC Women's Volleyball team's season came to an end Saturday, October 27th with a loss to Harrisburg Area Community College. The Lions entered the game as the 3 seed in the Region XIX tournament and the Hawks were the second seed. RVCC lost the first two sets, took the third, and lost the fourth.

Despite the loss to the Hawks the Lions had another very successful season. The team captured the Garden State Athletic Conference Championship for the second season in a row. The back to back Conference Championships are the first in women's sports history at RVCC and the first since Men's Soccer accomplished the feat in the 1999 and 2000 seasons. RVCC is returning seven of their twelve players for next year, five of which were starters. Coach Phil Herro had this to say about the Class of 2019, "We as a department couldn't be more proud of this group of kids and what they were able to accomplish. Coach Kelsie and I were lucky to have had this opportunity and thank them for the unbelievable ride these past two seasons. Those five student athletes embody everything we preach here and have helped change the culture on our team. They have cemented an unbelievable legacy here and laid a strong foundation for the student athletes that will follow them. We are excited about the wonderful pieces we have coming back and thank the sophomores for their time and commitment."

RVCC finished the 2018 season at 20-4, their second 20 win season in a row.
