Volleyball Defeats Passaic!

Paterson, NJ – On Thursday September 6th the RVCC Women's Volleyball team defeated Passaic County Community College 3-0. The Lions came out strong in the first set, but couldn't manage to keep up the energy as the scrappy Passaic team kept finding a way to win points. Eventually the Lions were able to pull away to win the first set 25-20. The Lions only got better as the night progressed winning the second set 25-15 and the third set 25-11.

Leading the way for the Lions on the offensive end was Freshman Outside Hitter Rosie Perna. Perna totaled 5 kills on 11 attacks and had a very impressive 7 service aces. Both middle blockers for the Lions also tallied at least 5 kills as Freshman Bryahna Shaw finished with 6 and Sophomore Danielle Burnejko finished with 5. Defensively the Lions were led by Freshman Libero Andrea Chavez who had 6 serve receive attempts and Sophomore Chandra Ramlogan who finished the night with 5 serve receive attempts and 4 digs. The Lions are now 2-0 on the week after beating Ocean County College 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The Lions will look to finish their first full week in action 3-0 as they host Middlesex County tomorrow at 12 PM.
