Women's Soccer Defeats Monroe College Express

North Branch, NJ - The women's soccer team of RVCC took to the field Saturday, Sept. 9th for their first collegiate soccer match in over a year. The Lions' first match of this season was vs. Monroe Express from the Bronx.

The Lions took control of the match early and jumped out to a 6-0 lead at half time and finished the match with a 9-0 victory. 

The Lions were lead to victory by Sophmore Jill Ferrante with a game high 5 goals. Freshman Grace Sullivan scored two goals for RVCC and Caitlin Morris and Jordyn Wright ended off the scoring with 1 goal each for the Lions!

After the match Coach Pennetti was asked what was his opinion of the Lion's play today and how they performed in their first match in over a year? Coach Pennetti replied, "I am very happy for the ladies, they took on a challenge to help build a program here at RVCC, for all their efforts and hard work; they deserved the victory and they can now enjoy the accomplish of a well played match!"

Now the Lion's look to continue their positive play next week with a home match against Camden County on Saturday the 14th at noon.
