North Branch, NJ - The RVCC Women's Basketball team closed out the Garden State Athletic Conference season tied for first with a 5-1 record after Thursday's 70-57 win over Middlesex College. This is the program's first time finishing the season atop the conference. 

The Lions were riding high after Tuesday night's win over eighth ranked Union College and didn't look like the same team at all on Thursday night. The Lions, who beat Middlesex 92-34 on the road in the first semester, just couldn't seem to get on the right track all night as they struggled to a 29-29 score going into the half. The team shot a near season worst 13% from downtown as only Kerine Thomas (2) and Julia Fontanillo (1) would connect on any of the team's 22 attempts from beyond the arc. With the game on the line in the forth quarter Lucia Noin and Vega Gil came up clutch as they have done all season with 9 and 6 points respectively. 

The win moves the Lions to 21-5 on the season with just one Region XIX game remaining against Harcum College on the 13th of February.
