Women's Basketball Tops CCM

North Branch, NJ – The RVCC Women's Basketball team defeated County College of Morris on Tuesday night by a final score of 82-53. The Lions improved to 9-2 on the year with the win while CCM falls to 1-4.

The game plan for the Lions was pretty simple, rebound and push the pace, and they executed it to perfection. RVCC was able to secure defensive stops in their full court press, half court zone, and half court man throughout the night to help lead to easy offensive buckets. The Lions have been sharing the ball well all season and had 15 assists on their 32 made field goals. Precious Allah once again led the team with 5 dimes and also had a team high 12 points. 5 other Lions scored in double figures with Adrienne Amey contributing 11 and Morenike Akinrefon, Olivia Nilsen, Dyliany De Leon, and Khayla Flemmings all chipping in 10 apiece. The Lions were able to control the game on the boards as well as every single member of the team had at least one rebound. Sophomore Forward, Claudia Edralin, was the top rebounder for the Lions as she pulled down 8 boards and Freshman Sonia Guiste grabbed seven rebounds on the night. The Lions shot 88% from the charity stripe knocking down 15-17 on the night.

That was the Lions only contest of the week, but they have a full schedule starting next Tuesday as they travel to #12 Ranked Harcum College. From there the Lions travel to face Region XIX foe Union County College on Thursday and close the week with a home tilt against Mercer County College on Saturday.
