Women's Basketball Defeat Manor College

North Branch, NJ – On Saturday February 3rd the RVCC Women's Basketball Team defeated Manor College by a final score of 99-67. The Lions came out of the gates on fire as they scored the first 19 points of the game all unanswered. The Lions took a commanding 33-12 lead into the second quarter and entered halftime up 52-33. The Blue Jays from Manor cut the lead to 14 points in the third, but the Lions came roaring back and put the game out of reach. The team has been known to start hot and then slow down in the second half, but that was not the case on Saturday. The Lions scored 47 points in the second half and had their largest scoring output of the season finishing one point shy of the century mark.

The Lions had 5 players in double figures and all eleven to enter the game scored at least one point. Olivia Nilsen led the team with 23 points and also had four rebounds and two steals. Freshman guard Adrienne Amey put in her most solid all-around performance on the year as she finished with a season high 17 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals. Ashley Hunt and Rachel Knappenberger each finished with 14 points and Megan Mack rounded out the Lions in double figures finishing with 11 on 3 of 6 shooting from downtown.

RVCC travels to RCBC on Tuesday, February 6th for a Region XIX matchup against the Barons at 5 P.M.
