Women's Basketball 4 Game Winning Streak!

Blue Bell, PA – On Thursday, February 1st the RVCC Women's Basketball Team traveled to Montgomery County Community College and beat the Mustangs 80-44. RVCC got off to a slow start as they were only up 13-10 after the first stanza, however things would soon change when the second quarter began. The Lions outscored the Mustangs 27-5 in the second to take a commanding 40-15 halftime lead. The Lions were able to score because of the defensive intensity led in large by freshman guard Adrienne Amey and her game high 7 steals.

Offensively it was more of the same for the Lions as Olivia Nilsen continued her assault from downtown. The freshman guard had a career high 30 points on 6 of 9 shooting from beyond the arc. Nilsen who's known for her ability to knock down the trifecta was no stranger to finishing in the paint Thursday as she converted 5 of her 6 attempts from inside the paint. The only other Lion in double figures was sophomore Ashley Hunt who has been a jack of all trades for the Lions all season long. The sophomore from Edison High finished with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and a team high 6 assists. Adrienne Amey added 5 assists of her own to complement her 3 points and seven steals. The Lions got a huge boost from the bench as ten different players scored during the contest. Leading the way was freshman Rachel Knappenberger who finished with 8 points, 3 boards, and 1 dime. The Lions return to action this Saturday as they host Manor College for a 12 P.M. tip off.
