Women's Basketball Defeat Sussex

Thursday, January 25th 2018, Branchburg, NJ – The RVCC Women's Basketball Team got back to their winning ways Thursday night with an 88-51 victory over Sussex County College. The Lions put the game away in the first quarter taking a 26-9 lead heading into the second period. With the win the Lions are now 14-6 on the season. 

All ten players that entered the game for the Lions were able to get on the scoreboard and three players finished in double figures. Olivia Nilsen continued to stay hot as she finished with 22 points going three for three from beyond the arc in a short span in the third quarter. Ashley Hunt was one assist shy of a double double finishing with 14 points and 9 dimes. The Sophomore guard from Edison High School is leading the team with nearly 6 assists per game. Freshman forward Claudia Edralin had a solid performance all-around as she tallied 11 points and grabbed 8 boards. The Lions reserves were key in the victory and leading the way were Freshmen Rachel Knappenberger and Lauren Armellino. Knappenberger posted 9 points and 5 boards while Armellino finished with 8 points and 6 rebounds. The Lions hop back into conference play this Saturday the 27th at 1 P.M. as they host the Barons from Rowan College at Burlington County.
