Saturday January 20th, 2018 Bryn Mawr, PA – The RVCC Women's Basketball team suffered their first loss of the second semester to Harcum College by a final score of 79-58. The final score was not indicative of how close the game was for three quarters, but the Lions couldn't hang on late to fight for the victory. RVCC was up 15-11 after the first and only down 30-26 at halftime. The Lions kept the game close heading into the fourth trailing 52-46, however the Lions couldn't keep up the scoring in the last frame losing the quarter by 15 points.
Leading the way for the Lions was Sophomore guard Ashley Hunt who led all scorers with 24 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Freshman guard Olivia Nilsen posted her third double double of the second semester finishing with 15 points and 11 boards. Joining Hunt and Nilsen in double digit scoring was Freshman Moira Phillips who finished with 10 points and 3 rebounds. The road doesn't get much easier for the Lions as they return home to take on Lackawanna College, the second place team in Region XIX. Game time is scheduled for a 5 P.M. tip off on Tuesday, January 23rd.
