Women's Basketball improve to 2-0 in second semester

January 17th 2018, Jenkintown PA. – The RVCC Women's basketball team improved to 2-0 in the second semester with a 70-43 win over Manor College on Wednesday night. The Lions got off to a slow start only leading by one point at halftime, 24-23. RVCC would come out strong in the third quarter outscoring the Blue Jays of Manor 22-12 in the stanza. The fourth quarter was much of the same as the Lions held Manor to only 8 points and scored 24 of their own.

Leading the way for the Lions was Sophomore guard Ashley Hunt who nearly registered a triple double with 27 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds. Fellow guard, freshman Olivia Nilsen, has been on fire to begin the 2018 schedule as she registered her second straight game of over 20 points finishing with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Freshman Forward Moira Phillips grabbed 12 boards to go along with her 10 points and got some help on the glass from Freshman guard Adrienne Amey who snatched 10 rebounds to go along with her 6 assists and 3 steals. The Lions have a quick turnaround as they head to Harrisburg, PA tomorrow to take on the Hawks of HACC. With the win the Lions improved to 12-4 on the season.
