Women's Basketball with a win to start second semester!

Saturday, January 13th Wayne, PA – The RVCC Women's Basketball team started the second semester off right with a 67-49 win over Region XIX opponent Valley Forge Military College. The Lions got off to a slow start and only led by three after the first stanza before making a bit of a run to close the first half up 36-28. After intermission the Lions seemed to get a second wind and Valley Forge couldn't keep us RVCC pushed the lead to over twenty and never looked back.

Freshman guard Olivia Nilsen was unbelievable for the Lions as she registered her second double double on the year with 29 points and 13 rebounds. The sharp shooting guard from Bound Brook finished 6 of 9 from downtown and 11 for 18 overall. Sophomore guard Ashley Hunt was the other player to record double digit points as she finished with 11 points, 5 steals, 4 assists, and 9 boards. It was a collective effort from the rest of the squad as every player seemed to fill up the stat sheet in some capacity. Freshman guard Adrienne Amey tallied 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. Freshman forwards Moira Phillips, 7 points and 15 rebounds, and Claudia Edralin, 8 rebounds, helped control the glass for the Lions as they were able to outrebound Valley Forge 61-36.
