Women's Basketball Defeat Essex

North Branch, NJ – On Thursday December 15th the RVCC Women's Basketball team turned in a dominant performance against Essex County College winning 75-43. The Lions got off to a hot start connecting on their first three attempts from beyond the arc to take an early 11-2 advantage. The Lions never trailed in the game and led 31-7 after the first quarter. Aside from the third quarter, in which the Lions allowed 22 points, Essex was held to single digits in each frame.

Every member of the team ended up in the scoring column, but it was Freshman guard Adrienne Amey that led the way for the Lions. Amey was four of five from downtown and finished the night with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Sophomore guard Megan Mack chipped in with 10 points of her own. Freshmen Olivia Nilsen and Lauren Armellino added 12 and 10 respectively. Controlling the glass once again for the Lions were Claudia Edralin with 10 boards and Moira Phillips with 7.

The Lions will be looking for their ninth win next Tuesday at County College of Morris at 5 PM.
