Lions Victorious Against Luzerne

North Branch, NJ-- On Thursday night the RVCC women's basketball team picked up a victory against Luzerne County Community College by a final score of 71-35. The Lions came out fast as they got out to a 22-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. They kept the pace up in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 36-8 at halftime, and did not look back in the second to get the victory. 

Leading the scoring was freshman guard Megan Mack with 18 points. She also added five rebounds, nine assists and five steals. Freshman guard Ashley Hunt scored 15 points, grabbed five rebounds and added six assists and five steals. Freshman forward Mariana Munoz scored 12 points coming off of the bench, and sophomore forward Courtney Price posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Lions played unselfish basketball as they finished with 23 assists on 29 field goals. With the win they improve to 5-8, and next up is a home game Saturday, January 28th against Valley Forge Military College at 12pm.
