Lions Start Spring Semester With a Victory Over Burlington

Pemberton, NJ-- The RVCC women's basketball team defeated Rowan College at Burlington County Thursday night by a final score of 62-51. In the first game back after the winter break, the Lions jumped out to a 30-18 halftime lead, and they did not look back and sealed the win.

Leading the scoring was freshman guard Megan Mack with 23 points. Mack also added nine rebounds and four assists. Freshman forward Ashley Hunt played a solid all-around game with 11 points, six rebounds, nine assists and four steals. The presence on the glass came from freshman forward Neith Wideman, who grabbed an impressive 17 rebounds. Wideman also played tough defense as she finished with seven steals. Sophomore guard Lauren Ferretti added eight points, five assists, and three steals. 

The Lions distributed the ball effectively, as they totaled 21 assists on 26 field goals. With the victory they improve to 4-7, and next up is an away game at Mercer County Community College Tuesday, January 24th at 5pm.
