Newark, NJ-- The RVCC women's basketball team had their season opener Tuesday when they traveled to Essex County College, and Essex came out on top 99-47. 

In her first collegiate game freshman guard Megan Mack scored a team high 17 points. Also making her debut was freshman forward Ashley Hunt who posted a double double as she had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Another freshman, Mariana Munoz scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Next up for the Lions is the home opener on Saturday, November 12th when they take on Montgomery County Community College at 12pm.
