RVCC Softball Splits with Bucks

 Newton, PA- On Thursday, April 26th the RVCC softball team had their last game of the season vs Bucks. The Lions split the doubleheader winning the first game 9-7 and lost the second 12-11.

In game one, Bucks got on the board first scoring a run in the first inning, but the Lions came back in the in the second inning, sophomore Taylor Raphael hit a 3 run homerun which was her first and teams first homerun of the season giving the Lions the lead 4-1. It was a back and forth game but the Lions came out on top with a total of 12 hits. Freshman pitcher Brianna Laface had a solid game pitching seven innings and earned her first win of the season.

In game two the Lions gave up 6 runs in the second inning and 5 in the third inning and unfortunately came up one run short in the end. The Lions had a total of 14 hits and a season high of 9 stolen bases.

The Lions finish the season 2-17-1. The RVCC softball team graduates 9 sophomores this season and a couple will continue their softball careers at a 4 year school. Good Luck to all our sophomores!
