North Branch, NJ-- The RVCC men's soccer team tied with Northampton Community College by a final score of 1-1 on Saturday.
The Lions got on the board first when freshman midfielder Dennis Espinal found sophomore forward Chukwuemeka Okoye with a good ball inside of the box and Okoye beat the Northampton keeper to make it 1-0 Lions. Northampton punched one in in the 59th minute, as they got control of one from fourteen feet out and punched it in. The Lions had a good amount of chances, as they outshot Northampton 20-9 with 12 of the shots being on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Meny picked up five saves, including one in the final seconds to hold it at 1-1.
Next up for RVCC is an away game on Thursday, September 14th against Union County College at 3:30pm.
