Lions Pick Up First Victory

North Branch, NJ-- The RVCC men's soccer team picked up it's first victory of the season on Friday, September 9th. The Lions topped Williamson College of the Trades 3-1. 

RVCC struck first in the 15th minute, as freshman defenseman Roger Lizano scored off an assist from freshman midfielder Brian Johnson. 20 minutes later freshman midfielder Philippe Hayek beat the Willamson goalie to extend the lead to 2-0. Hayek was set up by freshman forward Miguel Palacios. Scoring in the second half was freshman forward Chukwuemeka Okoye in the 70th minute. The Lions controlled the pace of the game and made the work load easy for freshman goalie Alex Meny, as Williamson only had five shots. 

With this victory the Lions are now 1-1, and their next game is home on Tuesday September 13th against Middlesex County College beginning at 3:30pm.
