RVCC Men's Soccer Drops Opener to Camden

The Golden Lions men's soccer team started the 2015 season on the wrong foot losing 8-1 to #6 Camden County College in Blackwood.  After opening the scoring on a deflected shot that gave stand-in goalkeeper Jarius Bradley no chance, the Cougars banged 4 more goals past RVCC before Adekunle Akande (Phillipsburg HS) collected a Sammy Hernandez (North Plainfield HS) pass and fired a low shot inside the far post to cut into the lead.  RVCC was their own worst enemy all afternoon, backing out of 50/50 challenges and misconnecting on passes all over the field allowing the Cougars to easily tack on 3 more goals second half goals to complete the 8-1 rout.

An injury-riddled line-up made matters tougher.  With no goalkeepers available and several players missing with injuries, the Golden Lions need to find their confidence and some healthy players before they open the home season against Ocean County College on Tuesday, September 1st.  The match kicks off at 4pm in Branchburg.
