North Branch, NJ – The RVCC Men's Basketball team defeated Del Tech Community College on Thursday, December 6th by a final score of 101-95. The Lions improve to 5-6 on the year and 4-3 in Region XIX play.
The Lions came out of the gate trailing Del Tech and were down 39-51 at the half. It was not util the second half where the Lions came to life and went on a 15-7 run to get them back into the game. With 9 minutes remaining in the game the Lions took the lead and never looked back. At the 5 minute mark the Lions were up their biggest lead of the nigth with a 12 point gap. Freshman Tyshon Hanberry dominiated with a season high 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. Four other Lions scored in double digits; freshman Samir Dieujuste contributed 19 points and 10 assist, Isaiah Thompson with his season high 18 points and 9 rebounds, sophomore Tariq Royster with 16 points and 5 steals, and freshman Michael Delsantro with 15 points.
RVCC will look to push their record to 500 on Tuesday, December 11th at Harcum with a 7:00 PM tip off.
