North Branch, NJ – On Saturday February 10th the RVCC Men's Basketball Team defeated Mercer County Community College by a close final score of 65-63. The Lions were down 2 points at the half 29-31 but never got discouraged. The Lions battled it out the entire game even after being down 10 points with 10 minutes left in the game. The Lions took the lead for the first time in second quarter at the 4 minute mark making it a back and forth game the rest of the way, and it was freshman guard Tariq Royster who gave the Lions the 2 point lead with an offensive rebound and scoring the field goal to give the Lions the win!

Isaiah Laurent lead three Lions in double figures by making 9 field goals, 15 rebounds, and 5 assist. Freshman Najuan Jenkins finished with 14 points 6 rebounds and freshman forward Amadu Benbow contributed 11 points .

With the win the Lions are now #2 in the Region XIX and 17-8 overall. Next up for the Lions is an away contest at Essex County College on Tuesday February 13th with the tip off scheduled for 7 P.M.
