RVCC Beats Middlesex

North Branch, NJ-- The RVCC men's basketball team defeated Middlesex County College on Saturday by a final score of 116-66. The Lions came out strong and opened up a 26-6 lead by way of a 25-3 run in the first ten minutes of the game. They were able to close out the first half strong to take a 63-27 lead going into halftime, and did not look back to hold onto the win. 

Leading the way for RVCC with a triple-double was freshman guard Kevin Saylor, who scored 34 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and added 11 assists. Freshman forward Ron Washington posted a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds, while sophomore guard Zaire Robinson scored 20 points and totaled seven assists. Freshman guard Kenyan Goodson scored 15 points by way of 5-12 from the three-point line and added seven assists, and sophomore forward Sam Pierre scored 11 points and grabbed eight boards. 

With the win the Lions improve to 16-9, and next up is a home game Tuesday, February 21st against Orange County Community College at 7pm.
