Lions Pull Out Win At Del Tech

Newark, DE-- The RVCC men's basketball team defeated Delaware Technical Community College on Tuesday by a final score of 88-83. They came out of the gate hot in the first half as they shot the three pointer well and entered the locker room with a 55-34 lead, yet Del Tech mounted a comeback in the second half. With less then 20 seconds left the Lions held onto a slim 82-81 lead, and they were able to get the crucial defensive stop and hit the free throws to seal the win. 

Leading the scoring was sophomore guard Zaire Robinson with 26 points. Robinson also added ten rebounds and seven assists. Freshman guard Kenyan Goodson played well coming off of the bench, as he scored 22 points and went 7-10 from the free throw line. Sophomore forward Sam Pierre scored 14 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and added five assists. Sophomore forward Jayce Beasley scored 14 points and shot 3-4 from the three point line, and freshman forward Ron Washington grabbed 13 rebounds. 

With the win the Lions improve to 15-8, and next up is a home game at Essex County College Thursday, February 16th at 7pm.
