Lions Top Burlington

North Branch, NJ-- The RVCC men's basketball team defeated Rowan College at Burlington County Tuesday night by a final score of 71-64. With 2:41 left to play, Burlington hit a layup to tie it up at 59-59. With the score 61-60 with 1:40 left to play, sophomore forward Sam Pierre found sophomore forward Jawan Robinson at the elbow and Robinson hit the jumper to give the Lions the lead for good. They were able to make the key defensive stops they needed, and hit the free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

Guards Kevin Saylor and Zaire Robinson each had a team high 15 points. Robinson added 10 rebounds, and Saylor added eight rebounds and four steals. Freshman forward Ron Washington scored 12 points and had a big night on the glass with 16 rebounds, and freshman guard Kenyan Goodson added 14 points coming off of the bench.

With the win the Lions improve to 7-5 overall, and next up is a home game Saturday, December 17th against Mercer County Community College at 2pm.
