Lions Victorious Over Manor

North Branch, NJ- On Tuesday, November 15th the RVCC men's basketball team defeated Manor College by a final score of 94-76. The first 13 minutes of the game was back and forth, as the Lions held a slim 25-20 lead with seven minutes remaining, however closed the first half on a 21-6 run. Manor battled back in the beginning of the second half to cut the RVCC lead to 57-54 with over 12 minutes to play, but the Lions came alive to close the game and come away with the victory.

Both sophomore guard Zaire Robinson and freshman guard Kevin Saylor scored 28 points. Robinson went 10-16 from the free throw line, and added seven rebounds five assists, and four steals to his line. Saylor went an efficient 8-10 from the free throw line. Freshman forward Ronald Washington scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds. A solid defensive effort came from sophomore forward Jawan Robinson who had eight rebounds and three blocks, as well as sophomore forward Sam Pierre who finished with seven rebounds and three blocks.

With the win the Lions improve the 3-0, and will participate in the RVCC Fall Classic this weekend. Friday they face Community College of Rhode Island at 7pm, and Saturday will square off against Howard Community College at 3pm.
