Golden Lions Fall to Manor in Semifinals

The 2015-16 RVCC men's basketball season ended Friday with an 87-73 loss to a talented Manor College team in the Region 19 semifinal round. Manor held a 43-35 lead, and held on with a solid second half performance.

Leading the scoring for the Golden Lions with another impressive outing was sophomore guard James Richardson with 31 points. In his final game, he shot 13-21 from the floor and grabbed 5 rebounds. Freshman guard Logan Santiago threw in 15 points by way of 5 three pointers, and sophomore forward Bridson Rivera had 12 points. Freshman center Aaron Broxton played good defense and rebounded well grabbing 10 on the game. Also strong on the glass was freshman forward Jawan Robinson with 6 rebounds.

Manor College shot the ball well all game, going an impressive 12-26 from three point range.

The Golden Lions finished the season with an overall record of 18-9, and the playoff apperance marks the third season in a row where they qualified for the Region 19 tournament.
