Baseball Posts Back to Back Victories over Union and Bergen

Paramus, NJ - The RVCC Baseball team posted back to back victories for the first time this season. The team swept Monroe in a double header earlier this year, but Monday was the first time the winning streak was extended beyond one day. RVCC beat Union County College last Wednesday, 16-9, and beat Bergen County Community College yesterday, 13-6. RVCC swept the season series against Union County College as they posted a 26-11 dismantling of the Owls earlier in the month.

Ian Smoke took the mound for the Lions against the Bulldogs and walked off with his second complete game victory. Smoke ranks 4th in the country with 5 complete games on the season and didn't allow a single walk Monday. On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, Bergen gave up 17 walks on the evening. The top six batters for RVCC each had 6 plate appearances. Paul Hamilton lead the team with 4 RBI's on the night and registered his 7th double of the year.

RVCC hosts Monroe College this Thursday for a double header starting at 2 P.M. The Lions previously swept the Express, 6-2 and 12-4, in The Bronx. RVCC currently sits at 6-20-1.
