RVCC Drops Two to Del Tech

Georgetown, DE-- The RVCC baseball team lost both games in the doubleheader on Friday at Delaware Technical Community College by final scores of 7-1 and 3-2. In game one, the Lions got on the board first in the top of the third inning when freshman infielder Luis Cruz knocked in freshman outfielder Adalberto Colon Jr. with an RBI single. Cruz went 2-3 for the game. Del Tech countered with one in the bottom of the third and three in the bottom of the fourth, and the RVCC bats could not mount a comeback. Freshman right handed pitcher Trevor Sanchez took the loss as he went six innings and allowed seven runs but zero earned runs and only five hits.

In game two, RVCC scored first in the top of the first when freshman man player Esterlin Ayala hit a sacrifice fly to score freshman infielder Hector Coco. Coco brought the Lions within one run in the top of the sixth inning with an RBI groundout. On the mount Cruz went a solid six innings, as he only allowed two earned runs and totaled six strikeouts.
