Kevin Ryan will begin his sixth season as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach in the Fall of 2017.  The 2016-17 Lions went 18-11 and advanced to the Region XIX semifinals. They defeated NJCAA ranked 14 Manor College in the first round by a final score of 85-68. The 2016-17 season marked the fourth consecutive post-season apperance for Ryan's Lions. In his five seasons, Ryan has coached 9 All Garden State Athletic Conference award winners, 9 All Region XIX award winners, three Region XIX Players of the Year, and three NJCAA D2 All-Americans. 

A resident of Scotch Plains, NJ, Ryan is a two year varsity letter winner at St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, NJ.  After his sophomore year, he transferred to Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA where he was also a 2 year varsity letter winner.   Upon graduating from Lawrence Academy, Ryan was recruited to play at NCAA Division III Hartwick College in New York where he started every game as a freshman.  In his sophomore season he transferred to Catholic University in Washington D.C. where he finished his academic career and remained active in the basketball world.

Ryan began his coaching career in 2008 working with Team Freckles AAU.  He has served as the Assistant Coach for the 17U team since and as well as the Head Coach for the 15U team since 2011.   Working with over 10 NCAA Division I players, Ryan also has served as the Head Varsity Girls Coach in the Mount St. Mary’s Academy Fall League.

In addition to being the Head Men's Basketball Coach, Ryan is the Assistant Athletic Director for Eligibility and Sports Information for the RVCC Athletic Department. He resides in Scotch Plains, NJ.
